Set-Up Instructions for Eudora 5.x

Attention! Sky Mail users must substitute the following:

  • POP3 = mail.yourdomain.com
  • SMTP = mail.yourdomain.com
  • Username = username@yourdomain.com
  • Email Address = username@yourdomain.com
NOTE: username = your given username; yourdomain.com = your company's domain name

1. Double-click the Eudora icon to open it. If you are installing Eudora for the first time, the New Account Wizard opens, showing the welcome screen.

2. Click Next to begin setting up your new email account.

3. For Your Name, enter your name as you would like it to appear in your outgoing messages. Click Next.

4. For Return Address, enter your email address, usually username@skylands.net, then click Next.

5. For Login Name, enter your username, the part of the email address that comes before the @ sign. Click Next.

6. For Incoming E-mail Server, select POP as your mail server type. The server name is pop3.skylands.net Click Next.

7. Click Finish.

You are now setup to receive, but there are a couple of steps you need to take to be able to send:

1. Click Tools and choose Options.

2. Scroll through the icons, and choose Sending Mail.

3. In the SMTP server field, enter smtp.skylands.net

4. Click OK to save your settings and close the options box.

You are now ready to send and receive email in Eudora 5.x!
